Activation Guide

Now it's easier than ever to access information about your Morgan Stanley benefit account(s).

This guide provides you with step-by-step, easy-to-use instructions to activate your benefit account online when you receive a temporary User Name and Password from us in the mail. In the event that you receive an e-mail from Morgan Stanley with instructions on how to activate your Benefit Access account on-line, please follow the directions contained in the e-mail.

What You Will Need to Activate Your Account Online

To activate your online benefit account via, you will need the following:

  1. A temporary Internet User Name (issued by Morgan Stanley) located at the top of your Welcome Letter.
  2. A temporary Internet Password (issued by Morgan Stanley) mailed under separate cover.
  3. A web browser installed on your PC that supports cookies and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).

The Activation Process

The first time you log on to Morgan Stanley Benefit Access, you will need to activate your online account using your temporary User Name (found in your Welcome Letter) and your temporary Password (mailed under separate cover).


To Begin the Activation Process:

  1. Connect to the Internet. Type in this address,, and press "Enter."
  2. The Morgan Stanley Benefit Access Welcome Page will appear.
  3. Enter your temporary Internet User Name in the "User Name" field. Enter your temporary Internet Password in the "Password" field. Then Log on. This will begin the following Activation Process.

Step One: Select a New User Name

Type a new User Name in the "User" Name field.
Important: Pick a User Name that you will remember. Your User Name must be at least six characters long and begin with a letter or a number. Spaces and symbols (such as # or *) will not be accepted.
If the User Name you select is not unique or has been previously chosen by another user, you will receive an error message. You will then be asked to enter the Password associated with that User Name (the site assumes that you previously activated your account with this User Name). If you have not previously activated your Morgan Stanley Benefit Access account with us, please select a different User Name.

Step Two: Select a New Password

Type a new Password in the "New Password" field. Type the new Password again in the "Re-enter New Password" field.
Important: Pick a Password you will remember. Passwords are case sensitive and must be at least eight characters. Passwords must include a number and a letter. Passwords cannot contain spaces. All special characters and symbols are allowed except "<" and ">".
For example: If "Benefit123" is selected as a Password, each time the user logs on to the site, the Password "Benefit123" must be entered using the same combination of uppercase and lowercase letters.

Step Three: Provide a Password Hint

You will now be prompted to provide a "Password Hint" in the event you forget or misplace your Password. The "Password Hint" should be a word you will easily remember that will help you access your account.

Step Four: Activate Your Account

Click on the "Activate" button.
If your new User Name and Password is accepted, you have activated your Benefit Access account(s) access and will now continue to a one-time security step.

Security Questions

You will now be prompted to provide answers to three security questions which may be used to confirm your identify later. After completing these, click on the "Save and Continue" button.


You will be presented with the confirmation of your new User Name and Security Questions. Your Password will not be displayed for security reasons. Click "Continue" to now read and agree to the Terms and Conditions of Benefit Access.

You must carefully read through and agree to the Terms and Conditions on this page prior to accessing your account online. (Please note that if you have access to more than one product, you will see your Combined Benefit Statement with links on each product to agree to each of the Terms and Conditions.)
